REAL ESTATE PRICES MEASURED IN LABOUR HOURS

The questionnaire inquired about the value per sq.m in USD for a two standard apartment and for a four bedroom luxury apartment (see Question 6, 8 and 7, 9 in inquiry).
But the aim was not to compare raw values, but affordability and the chose measure was the value of a residential sq.m in local working hours, i.e. how many local working hours are needed to buy a local sqm.
The local working hours is calculated by GDP per capita ⁄ 8h work×22 days×11 months.
Knoema is the source of the GDP per capita values used in this study.

REAL ESTATE PRICES MEASURED IN BIG MAC

In those slides we use the same base data of inquiry as in the last question.
A different way to compare parity purchase power is based in Big Mac Index, as McDonalds’s famous sandwich is recognized as one of most standard products worldwide.
The comprehension of this indicator is how many local hamburgers is needed to buy a local square meter. The value expected is the ratio between the price of a local square meter and the price of a local hamburger (dwelling price per square meter ⁄ local BigMac price).
The Economist is the source of the local BigMac hamburger price.
